8" x 10" Watercolour - July 1999
This work is based on a photograph of a Golden Eagle that is a resident of the North Island Wildlife Recovery Association. The Association offers an adoption program for injured animals on Vancouver Island. I chose to adopt this Golden Eagle. I have always felt a deep appreciation for this bird ever since I first viewed it in the wild.
This Golden Eagle came to the Association after being injured by a gunshot wound to its wing. As a result, it can not be released back into the wild. We hope that one day, the flight feathers will regenerate and it can then be released back into the wild, where it belongs.
We would like to thank the NIWRA for giving us this opportunity to be a part of their adoption program. We appreciate their work!
